Michelle Williams cast as Shug Avery (The Color Purple)

The Color Purple Tour Cast Announced!

Michelle Williams of Destiny Child fame will play the saucy Shug Avery in The Color Purple tour which kicks off in Chicago on May 3rd, 2007 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre and American Idol Season 3 front runner, LaToya London, will play Nettie. The two stars join the already stellar cast including Jeannette Bayardelle (Celie) and Felicia P. Fields (Sofia) coming straight off their success in the Broadway production.
